Ark
Not storage.Preserve. Context. Protect. Transmit.
A deposit is only worth keeping if the people after you can find it, trust it, read it and know what to do with it. Ark starts with the card that says so.
TEST
Check a file against a fingerprint recorded earlier.
Seal · Test · Remember · Transmit
Seal records exactly what was deposited. Test proves it is still the same and still readable. Remember keeps the context that makes it meaningful. Transmit carries it, with its instructions, to the people meant to receive it.
A term we are still exploring
“Fairy cages” is an AOG term under exploration for protective containers: physical, digital, cryptographic, geographic, relational and governance. Its meaning has not been fixed, and nothing here depends on it.
What Ark does not do yet
Ark does not yet hold shared or remote deposits. Some protected bodies inside Ark are restricted, and how they are protected is not described publicly.
